Investigating Electronic Communities

ESPN is not only a channel on the television but is also a website. It is a website that sports fans go to on the internet and get the latest news on their favorite sport and teams and also come to play sports games. In this paper about (www.ESPN.com) the reader will read about its details, what it has to offer, and important links that the reader may or may not have known about on this web page.
The background of the homepage starts off as a dark red color than fades off to a dark grey color by the center of the page. From the middle of the page to the end of the page the color had faded to a very light grey color. For the font on the home page all the headliners are in bold print. Under the headliners there are little captions explaining what the headliners are about but those letters are in regular font.
Across the top of the home page are the latest scores from the WGC Bridgestone Invitational, Nascar, MLB, and WNBA. Right under the ESPN logo there is a line of links that include the topics of other information dealing with ESPN: “all sports”, “commentary”, “fantasy”, “video”, “sportsnation”, “cities”, and “the life”. To the right of the web page they show headlines of the most recent things that happened which aired on ESPN news anytime during the day.
With different tabs different subjects appear beneath them. When a ESPN website user clicks on community he or she will find a lot of different bloggers and ombudsman information. There is another link called All Sports and when a user click on this link NFL, MLB, College Football, College Basketball, Golf, Soccer, and etc can be found. The tab called Page 2 on the homepage once clicking on it takes the user to what ESPN calls “A Guys World” that includes different information about sports and comics.
The fantasy tab includes all sports and free games like college pick em up, college showdown, and college football challenge. This page also includes the daily game called Streak for Cash witch is a game different people play and bid on to win money. They bid on different games of basketball, football, soccer, and all the rest of the sports. When you click on the video link the different videos that pops up are the latest high lights of the day an days prier, the ESPN TV shows that a ESPN fan may had missed during sometime of the day and wanted to caught up on what they missed. Other headliners on this page of videos are Original Digital and the Countdown Daily.
On this website are able to look up facts about players that a user of the site would want to find out about. For example when you tyoe in Babe Ruth in the search bar his stats pop up, so then you are able to click on career stat an once this page pops up his birthday, which hand he throw with and bated with. It also tells us what year he was inducted in to the hall of fame which was 1936, an also every year he was in the MLB what he did every year.
The community that ESPN the website is for is the sports lovers. The reason I say it’s for a sports lover community is because everything on the website has to do with some kind of sport. The sports lovers who like to blog but blog about a certain sport or just give their opinion on something that is going on in the sports world they are able to. They are also able to take their favorite sport an players of that sport in put them on the same team can play against other people an when prizes. This site is also a site where you can learn a lot more about sports that you may or may not have new about be for.
After reading this paper I how the next time the reader goes on www.espn.com he or she can notice the detail, what it has to offer, and the important links that is on the website. Cause this website is a very helpful and educating website from the videos to just the head stores that may be on the home page that day.

Whar Website i Will Analyze

The website i will be analyzing for my paper in class is ESPN. The community that is interested in this website is the sports community. The reason Isay this community is because this whole website has to do with sports. Another community is the blogging community about sports. ESPN also has different tabs on there site that you can go to for different sports for people to give their own opinion on this sport they are blogging about. The purpose of this site is to inform people of the sport he or she loves to watch or hear about, it also shows things he or she has missed out during sometime an wants to catch up on it. On the website all the different shows that comes on TV on the channel ESPN is also on the website. This site also has stats on websites, for instances you can type in Ray Lewis an all of his stats with pop up of what he has ever done. This site also has a fantasy section were people can put together their dream teams with players he or she wish that was on the same team. Once they pick their teams they can play against other people an win different prizes. Other games on this site is different challenges for different sports on the website. Espn works very well it is easy to use as long as you can read because everything is in big letters an it is very colorful so its easy to see.

My youtube video an group

In the group for my youtibe is just me and another student in our class named Alfonso Oliva. We made our video for class on August 4 2010, at the library on campus. Basically our video is what you would see if you were a student walking up to the library as well as what you would see inside. So we too my phone an did all the recording on it. First we talked about what we was going to do, to make sure we both were on the right page. Then we did a full walk thru of the what we wanted to do during the video. Once we did our walk thru we found out that the time given we were over so we had to change a couple things around so we could meet the required time that we were given. Once we figured out what we were going to do to meet the time we started to record. We had to re due our video three times because we were trying to get the camera right. After get the carmea correct we did our video an me an my partner was very happy with the out come of out video that me came up with.
